83rd Legislative Session Human Trafficking Update: SB 92 Signed into Law
SB 92 by Sen. Leticia Van de Putte: The CLC supports this bill, which would create a diversion court program for victims of human trafficking. In particular, the bill would help recognize victims of human trafficking as victims, not criminals, particularly in situations involving allegations of prostitution (many victims are minors and cannot legally consent to sex—this bill attempts to treat them accordingly).
Update: This bill has been signed into Law.
